1. Who we are
This policy explains what information Captionix AI uses, why, and the choices you have. Captionix AI ("Captionix", "the app") is published by Vinnorokom ("we", "us"), reachable at [email protected].
Captionix helps you write social media captions, hashtags and hooks from your photos, videos or ideas. This policy covers the Captionix app on Android and iOS and the servers that power its AI features. It takes effect on 13 October 2026.
2. The short version
- No account. You don't sign up or log in, and we don't ask for your name, email or phone number.
- Photos are read on your device. Scene, face and text detection run on your phone. For most features only short text (keywords, your topic or caption) is sent to our servers.
- One feature sends a photo. The image editor's "AI Caption Suggestions" sends the selected photo to our server to write captions for it.
- Your history stays on your phone. Captions, favorites, history and video projects are stored on your device only.
- We don't sell your data. We use it only to run the app's features.
- Android shows ads to free users. Ads come from Google AdMob. Pro subscribers and iOS users see no ads.
3. What happens only on your device
These features run entirely on your phone and send nothing to us.
- Photo analysis. When you pick a photo, the app uses Apple's Vision framework (iOS) or Google ML Kit's on-device models (Android) to find scene labels, faces, smiles and printed text. The results become keywords you can edit.
- Photo Privacy Check. The app looks for phone numbers, emails, card numbers, booking codes and addresses in a photo's text and blurs them on your device.
- Smart Photo Picker scoring. Sharpness, lighting, faces, smiles and closed eyes are measured on your device.
- Mascot and settings. Your language, theme, caption preferences and the mascot's settings stay on your device.
The app also stores the following on your device only:
| Stored on your device | Why |
|---|---|
| Caption history and saved captions | So you can find and reuse them |
| Recently used photos (file locations) | Quick access to recent photos |
| Video projects, thumbnails and logos you add | So you can keep editing them |
| Today's free-generation count (Android) | To apply the free plan's daily limit |
| Whether you have Captionix Pro (Android) | To remove ads and limits, even offline |
Deleting the app or clearing its data removes all of it. We have no copy.
4. What is sent to our servers
AI writing happens on our own servers at vinnorokom.com, using open-source AI models we host ourselves. No outside AI company such as OpenAI or Google receives this information. We use it only to produce the answer you asked for.
| Feature | What is sent |
|---|---|
| Captions from a photo | Keywords from the photo, the occasion, who's in the photo and any note you add; your tone, length, hashtag and emoji choices |
| Captions from a description | The idea you type and your caption choices |
| Image editor "AI Caption Suggestions" | The selected photo and the tones you pick |
| Regenerate after removing every keyword | The photo, since there are no keywords to send |
| Image to Complete Post | Keywords and any printed text found in the photo |
| Viral Hooks, Viral Score, Platform Transformer | Your topic or caption text |
| Trend Radar | The platform you choose |
| Smart Photo Picker "Why this one" | The photo scores (numbers and short labels), not the photos |
Requests are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and carry no account or name. Like most web servers, ours may briefly record technical details such as your IP address and the time of a request to keep the service running.
We don't store what you send. Request content is processed only to produce your answer and is discarded as soon as the response is sent. We never use it, or any other data from the app, to train or improve AI models.
5. Photos, videos, camera and location
The app asks for camera and photo library access only so you can take or pick a photo or video, and save captioned photos and videos back to your gallery. You can refuse or withdraw these permissions in your phone's settings; the features that need them will stop working.
Videos you edit stay on your device. They are never uploaded; exporting saves the finished video to your gallery.
The app never asks for your device's location. If a photo you pick already contains location data (GPS metadata from your camera), the app turns it into a place name using your phone's built-in geocoding service, Apple's on iOS or Google's on Android. That service receives the photo's coordinates. The place name may then be used as a caption keyword and sent to our server with the others. You can remove it from the keywords before generating.
6. Third-party services
A few features rely on other companies. Each handles the information under its own privacy policy.
| Service | Used for | What it receives | Platform |
|---|---|---|---|
| MyMemory (Translated srl) | Translating captions | The caption text you choose to translate | Android, iOS |
| Free To Use | Free music library in the video editor | Requests for the music list and tracks; no personal information from us | Android, iOS |
| Google AdMob | Ads for free users | Device and advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location and ad interactions | Android only |
| Google Play Billing | Captionix Pro subscriptions | Your purchase, handled by Google; we never see your payment details | Android only |
| Apple / Google geocoding | Place name from a photo's location data | The photo's GPS coordinates | Android, iOS |
We don't share your information with anyone else, except where required by law.
7. Subscriptions and the free plan (Android)
On Android you can use Captionix free, with ads and 5 AI generations a day, or subscribe to Captionix Pro for unlimited generations and no ads.
- Purchases, free trials, renewals and cancellations are handled by Google Play. We never receive your card or payment details.
- The app checks with Google Play whether you have an active subscription and keeps that status on your device. It does not send your subscription to our servers.
- The daily count of free generations is kept on your device and resets at midnight local time.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions.
The iOS app has no subscription, purchases or daily limit.
8. Ads and tracking
On Android, free users see ads (full-screen, banner and native) from Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID and similar information to show and measure ads, which can include personalized ads. Captionix Pro removes all ads.
You can limit this on Android: go to Settings > Privacy > Ads (or Settings > Google > Ads) to delete or reset your advertising ID. Google explains its practices in How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
The iOS app shows no ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Neither version uses analytics or tracking tools of its own.
9. How long data is kept and how to delete it
- On your device: kept until you delete it. Clear your caption history in the History tab, remove saved captions and video projects in the app, or delete everything by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage.
- On our servers: nothing is kept. Your request is processed to answer it and is not stored afterwards.
- At third parties: governed by their own policies (section 6).
Because we have no accounts, we can't link a request to you. If you want us to delete anything we may hold, email [email protected] and we'll do our best to help.
10. Children
Captionix is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact [email protected] and we'll delete what we can.
11. Security
All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Most photo processing happens on your device, which keeps your photos out of our hands. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we process.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to its use, and to complain to a data protection authority.
We process the information described here to provide the features you use (performance of a contract) and, for ads on Android, on the basis of Google's ad consent and settings. We do not sell your personal information.
Your everyday choices:
- Edit or remove keywords before generating, so only what you approve is sent.
- Skip "AI Caption Suggestions" in the image editor if you don't want a photo uploaded.
- Turn off camera or photo access in your phone's settings.
- Reset your advertising ID (Android), or subscribe to Pro to remove ads.
- Delete your history in the app, or uninstall to remove everything on your device.
To exercise a right, email [email protected].
13. International transfers, changes and contact
Our servers and the third-party services above may be located outside your country. By using Captionix, your information may be processed there under the safeguards described in this policy. Our servers are self-hosted in the United States.
We may update this policy when the app changes. We'll post the new version at https://vinnorokom.com/captionix-ai/ with a new effective date, and tell you in the app if the changes are significant.
